Are our hospitals filled with young adults battling the Chicom flue? No. The Chicom flu is hitting the usual suspects and the elderly. There will always be a few outliers with any illness. Your distance runner from App State is one of them. Basing policy on those few unfortunates is a fools errand.

App State student (pictured below) looked pretty fit, but there might have been other issues not mentioned. Asthma is a big one that's not apparent from a photo. And of course, the photo might not be a recent one, meaning that what was once a picture of ruddy health might have deteriorated before infection by wuflu.

I read about another college runner who caught COVID-19 several months ago and still has not completely recovered enough to resume her competitive activities.
