The classic Thanksgiving episode will soon be on METV.
“The Phone Cops” was a great episode.
I love this one too.
“Hey! You’re young and swingin’....”

Watching now.
Agree. Loved Fish and Nick.
“Blum’s son Gary said his dad actually held a much smaller Thanksgiving promotion throwing frozen turkeys out of the back of a flatbed truck in the early 1960s at KBOX-AM in Dallas.
“The public went nuts fighting over the turkeys and it was a mess,” Gary said. “That was about the whole story.” But he admitted the story became embellished over the years. Even Wilson himself in the interview thought the turkeys were thrown from a helicopter as opposed to a flatbed truck.
Mark Kanov, a former WQXI exec, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 1996 that Blum actually uttered the words, “I didn’t know turkeys couldn’t fly, “ similar to Carlson’s line on the show.
Blum “thought he would just throw them out of the back of the truck and they would fly,” said Kanov, general manager of Star 94 at the time. “But they were like dead weights hitting the ground. Hundreds of people were grabbing them. One would get hold of a leg, another a neck. It was like tug of war.”

Great show and agree with Barney Miller a close second.
Could you imagine “All In The Family” on TV today??
“London! Madrid! Bangkok! Moscow! Cincinnati! From the four corners of the world, from the news capitals at home and abroad, the day’s headlines brought into focus. The issues and events that shape our times! WKRP, the information beacon of the Ohio Valley, presents Les Nessman and the news!”
Interesting trivia that it was a royalty issue.
As for that WKRP turkey episode, that falls flat with me. Just like that turkey tossed from a helicopter, I guess. I am not getting why so many people think it was so funny.
“It’s as if the turkeys were mounting a counter attack”
The funniest scene EVER in the history of comedy.
OMG, it’s happening now!!!!
Thanks for the heads up!!
Or “there’s a monkey on my foot!”
Barney Miller is one of the rare shows that never jumped the shark. It holds up well to this day.
I think my favorite episode was the one where Wojo inadvertently brings hashish-laced brownies into the office. EVERYONE but Barney gets stoned.
A classic. Over 40 years later, it’s still talked about. From a time when you could watch TV with your 10 year old daughter and not worry about it getting sleazy.
BTW, Jan Smithers was one of the most beautiful women on TV back then.
Yup. Even the original soundtrack of the Equalizer by Stewart Copeland were removed. You have to get the VHS versions of it or DL from torrent..
Yes she was - absolutely stunning in that "girl next door" natural beauty...especially in those glasses that made her very sexy!
Shout Factory put out a DVD set of the show that managed to get 75-80% of the original music. What they couldn’t get (”Dogs” by Pink Floyd) they came up with reasonable substitutions.
Yes, I would have Jan as my first pick...
Oh, well...
