If we don’t hear from you next Sunday, then you’ll have to tell us all about your time in Little Bavaria the following week. Have a great time, Mr. and Mrs. Viking! :-)

Thanks, Gina! I can tell you that we'll be grubbing for gemstones at a functioning creek mine there. We went there two years ago, worked our screens in the sluice, and pulled up a number of nice semi-precious gemstones, including a double emerald and some small rubies, a couple amethyst, beautiful rose and smoky quartz, tiger eye, and a nice topaz. (We were told that the topaz is to semi-precious stones what a diamond is to precious ones - the king. We keep them in a vase on the dining room table. Several are fairly valuable.) There's also several veins of gold in those hills as well, so finding small flakes and nuggets isn't unusual. Some private lake fishing is in order, and doing some wine tasting at Habersham Winery. (You get to keep your etched, stemmed wine glasses at the end. We already have two in our wine glass rack.) This is our fifth or sixth trip there in the last couple of decades, so we have an agenda once we get there.

My phone popped up an interesting link about visiting Helen......I suppose it synced with my laptop via my Google account and sent this article. Very good read with lots of links, but the pictures alone are worth looking at. Three days can't begin to cover all the in-town/outdoor activities to indulge in.
