Just saying - my cousin died of COVID.
She was very obese and had other major health issues and was never actually tested for COVID. Alas - cause of death - COVID.
Hospitals are doing very well on this COVID business. I am more than skeptical.

It sounds like your cousin was at especially high risk of complications and bad outcome from Covid-19 infection.

For your information: deaths are not counted as Covid-19 deaths without laboratory confirmation. Until the testing is done and confirms Covid-19, the death is counted as presumed Covid-19 if the symptoms prior to death supported such a diagnosis.

Happened to my aunt. 74 years old, obese, diabetic, bad heart, smoked for decades. She got pneumonia in a nursing home and was transferred to a hospital where she died. Cause of death: Covid-19,
