The Ivermectin dose measurement for a horse is the same as for a person: 200 mcg/kg
The dispenser/syringe has a ruler on the handle marked for pounds of weight.
Take one dose of 200 mcg/kg immediately.
Take a second dose of 200 mcg/kg 24 hours later.
For logistical reasons, you can take both doses all at once if it will be hard to give a second dose on the second day. There are clinical trials using a single dose of 600 mcg/kg.
By the way, the “apple flavored” product you are referencing is the one to get. It is at Tractor Supply for $4.
Way overdosed
12 mg is the ideal dose for a standard adult. I may be tired but I think your dosing converts to 20 mg.
The proper dose is 12 mg/day x 5 days
Thank you! FR is a lifesaver!
So a dose for 200 pounds is one gram of the 1.87% paste, with six doses per six gram tube. Do I have that right?
OK, this thread made me order, just in case. I’d been considering before based on some of the early reports/studies. Amazon has a six pack for $20. Cheap preps.
I have seen my horses foam that paste around in their mouths and it does not look pleasant. Isn’t there a capsule form?
