Proposed Biden Gun Tax Could Top $34 Billion

Report: 20 million ARs, 150 million ammunition magazines would be taxed under Biden proposal

SNIP

Biden wants to ban new sales of AR-15 rifles and similar firearms as well as any ammunition magazine holding more than 10 rounds—sizes that come standard on most modern rifles and handguns. He would pay some owners to surrender the affected guns they legally own and force everyone else to register the guns under the National Firearms Act. The proposal would require owners to pay a $200 tax stamp for each item.

The report said the kinds of rifles Biden wants to ban made up nearly half of all rifles produced in 2018. Oliva said the group's estimates may actually be undercounts. While NSSF used the latest Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives manufacturer reports, those only cover up to 2018, and Oliva said AR-15s have continued to grow in popularity since then.

"That manufacturer's report comes out [with] an 18 to 24-month delay," Oliva said. "That number is probably significantly higher now."

Oliva pointed to record sales in 2020 as evidence that the amount of ARs and ammunition magazines holding more than 10 rounds has only increased in recent months.

Correct me if I’m wrong but only Congress can enact taxes.....

Since the Senate will remain in Republican hands and the House with the narrow margin would be unlikely to pass regarding the arm twisting Pelosi may attempt, is this a tempest in a teapot?

Long past time for Revolution II.
And that, rest assured, WILL happen.
Time to get things done.

Taking guns may be easier than you think. Cross reference those rifles from the ATF forms you filled out with your IRS returns. Cough up or provide proof you gotten rid of the weapons. The burden of proof could be on the gun owner. The feds talk to each other. So dont think they cant enforce this yax.

So now all the Never-Trumpers, with their “He does mean tweets” and “He’s got no cultural skills and is an arrogant blowhard who can’t speak” can turn in the only defense Republicans have from the mobs of the future.

Nice going you milquetoast eating pussies.

REAL Trump supporters aren’t complying, btw.

Just like all the other times the Left has pulled this crap.

All he has to do is get it past the Senate and the Supreme Court.

The KEY to that is avoid complying with the edict in the first place.

They get away with lawbreaking on a regular basis.

Smile, nod, even agree, but do not comply.

There has been no legal requirement of record keeping.
Most gun owners have sold guns and have no record.

The senate may or may not remain in Republican hands. It depends on the election redo in Ga. Also, the Republicans will need to keep everyone voting as a block for at least two years. What are the odds? After all so many of them like to “cross the aisle.”.

I think the president can make any “law” by executive order and it takes a super majority to undo it. That won’t happen. This is why Trump was able to erase every Obama executive order. Those weren’t laws. But the EO has the force of law until it is reversed.

What Biden does with his gun EO’s is make all gun owners I to law breakers. So yes, this is a big f#cking deal. (To quote Biden.)
