The studies prior to the media hysteria about masks all showed very little benefit to masks with viruses.

We have known this for a long time, but much like global warming (the benchmark hysteria for public policy of the left) this is NOT science.

At this point, anyone in public coughing or sneezing should wear a mask. Anyone who is exhibiting these symptoms should not be in public anyways. Outside of actively spewing droplets into the air there is NO real evidence that an uninfected person receives protection.

Half or more of the people I see with masks are not even wearing them correctly.

Okay, but even then, a mask is not 100% effective unless it is properly sealed. The typical face diaper isn’t going to stop an active particle sneezer or spewer from spreading it around.

Ever since I've been forced to wear a mask my face has felt a lot warmer and has been bombarded by CO2.

I think there is something to this Global Warming theory.

“At this point, anyone in public coughing or sneezing should wear a mask.“

I disagree, wholeheartedly.

What we need is to return to normal. If you are out and about, and need to cough or sneeze, cover your mouth. Wash your hands. You know, good manners.... this is all that is needed and all that can be tolerated in a free society.

There are at least two sets of intangible benefits from wearing masks beyond a reduction in infections. These are:
- those wearing masks can claim they are virtuous, ie., “I wear a mask because I care”.
- politicians who impose mandates can give the appearance of doing something. Even if it is ineffective, many believe it is.

I usually have 3 good sneezes in the morning sometime....wearing my mask keeps most of my sneeze inside....I wash my hands and get a new mask.....its just polite not to sneeze or cough in other peoples direction .

Well that's about as dumb as the mask mandates themselves. If someone coughs because they breathed in when they meant to drink, if someone has seasonal allergies or is allergic to a nearby cat or something, you seriously think they should be staying at home for what, two weeks? No one has ever stayed home simply because of a cough or a sneeze. What is different now? Besides the fear factor, what is actually, physically, different?
