I have a Democrat representative here in Oneida County, NY, so forget that. He was up for re-election this election, and after more than two weeks, they have still not finished counting ballots. Republican Tenney was over 12% ahead of Brindisi on election night, but of course now that absentee ballots are being tallied, her lead has shrunk to 1.7%. Ballots for Brindisi have been 3-1 for absentee votes. There are still 12,203 ballots to be counted. Ballots had to be postmarked by the 3rd, but were allowed to be accepted up until November 10th. Tenney lost by less than 1% two years ago. I can see the Democrats finding enough ballots to keep Brindisi in his seat.
I’m in downstate NY and have been calling & emailing state legislators in Pa, Mich, & AZ - several have actually responded even though they know I’m not a constituent. Dick Morris said something like a politician getting 10 calls on an issue gets there attention; one hundred calls terrifies them. Hopefully thousands of calls & emails might put a spine in them.
