I’m in downstate NY and have been calling & emailing state legislators in Pa, Mich, & AZ - several have actually responded even though they know I’m not a constituent. Dick Morris said something like a politician getting 10 calls on an issue gets there attention; one hundred calls terrifies them. Hopefully thousands of calls & emails might put a spine in them.
I’m surprised they’re not using the excuse of their offices being closed because of COVID. I’m in NY and have tried these past months to call Schumer’s office, as well as Pelosi’s, and have only gotten a voice message that the office is closed. I’ve sent emails when I couldn’t connect with a person, but didn’t expect a response, and I never got one. The State Assemblywoman for my district is a Democrat. She just got re-elected. I’ve never bothered calling her, but have called my Republican State Senator’s office. The problem is that Democrats control both State Chambers with a large majority. Republicans will probably never gain control ever again...at least not in my lifetime.
