So not the US House of Reps, it’s the State Houses themselves and they’d overwhelmingly vote for Trump, about 28/22 from what I read elsewhere.

There is no contingency in the Constitution regarding the Presidential election in which the Speaker becomes President.

If no candidate gets 270 electoral votes the House of Representatives elects the President. Each state delegation gets 1 vote. That vote will most likely be determined by the party make up of that delegation. States with GOP majorities will probably vote for Trump. Assuming that all Republicans vote for Trump within their state delegations, Trump wins. The GOP is the majority party in more states that the rats.

I always hate having to rely on Republicans to do the right and courageous thing.

Me too. I’d rather this be settled in POTUS favor and not go to the House-Can’t count on those Congress Critters-some are too swampy.
