Isn’t HCQ just a modified quinine, modified for safety/side effect reduction?

I’m not sure about that- it’s supposed to be, according to what I’ve read at least, very safe- it’s only ‘bad’ for a very small % of people, millions have taken it for decades with no ill effects- it’s used for several conditions-

Yes, and available over-the-counter in many countries as it was in France for over 50 years. According to the AAPS safer than aspirin, Tylenol or Benadryl. But for COVID it’s important to combine it with zinc and Azithromycin (or Doxycyclene) for the best effect. And for elderly or high-risk treat immediately upon presentation of symptoms or clinical suspicion of COVID-19 without waiting for the unreliable result of COVID test to come back before treating.
