A parley. (”Parlez”, pronounced parlay, is “to speak” in French.)

“Parley” is an English word meaning a conference between opposing sides in a conflict. It’s used in that context in “Julius Caesar”, Act 5, Scene 1.

It’s been over 50 yrs since high school French, but I believe that “parler, pronounced parlay, is the infinitive “to speak.”
“Parlez” is the plural form for use as in “you speak” translates to “vous parlez.”
