Most of these days, spectacular movie sequences are created by an army of visual effects specialists. However, every now and then, a director prefers to go the more traditional, analog route.
Cheaper than CGI Christopher Nolan is described as “doing nothing by halves.” Meanwhile, in the age of computer-generated images and green screens, even for him, crashing an actual 747 into a building is unexpectedly real and hands-on. However, it turned out to be cheaper to buy an actual jumbo jet rather than construct miniatures and use CGI for the scene.

I saw a BMW video where they use computers to model car crashes. You may have a 2 core or 4 core cpu in your computer. They have the equivalent of 120,000 core. I do not know how many pc’s they are using but the graphics were realistic.

An odd thing (other than the obvious) is that there’s a play-by-play, narrated, handheld video of the incident.

In the BBC show Cobra, it was cheaper to buy a plane and cut it apart for a crash than to build a fake plane.

In the gif in #6 there does not appear to be a scratch on it after busting through the window frame and glass.
The window shattered, but many in the boneyard have usable glass.
Just pull the locking strip and they come right out, I think?
