What were they thinking?
Now that millions of Fox News viewers have awakened to the networks betrayal of their loyal viewers, what are we to think about those hosts we have let into our homes all these years? Weve long thought that these anchors we relied upon for actual news were on the same political page as their viewers reverence for the Constitution, law enforcement, our military, freedom, belief in American greatness, etc.
While it was clear some were not all-in Trump fans, Fox viewers assumed they shared their values. So have they been faking all these years? Have they gone home and made fun of Fox watchers and voted Democrat? Or have they now been ordered by Rupert Murdochs son to move left, to mimic CNN and MSNBC?
Chris Wallace revealed himself to be a partisan leftist, an anti-Trump guy, years ago so Fox News Sunday was no longer a must-watch program. He really exposed his bias in that first presidential debate; that was the final blow for conservatives re: Wallace.
Wallace is as committed a leftist as little George Stephanopoulos of ABC and the moonbats on CNN and MSNBC.
But that Bret Baier, Martha McCollum, Arthel Neville, Sandra Smith, Chris Stirewalt, et al, are suddenly all anti-Trumpers to the point of supporting a rigged election is a shock. Were they pretending then or are they pretending now? Either way, millions of us are no longer tuning in to Fox News.

i’ve been telling people all week....democrats are my opponents but the political and media elite are my enemy
Nothing will change with him.
Doocy... maybe at this point a bit more conflicted about the whole thing, but don't expect him, or anyone else at Fox to go rogue. That would only get them fired, and then constrained from going anywhere else (OAN) by the no-compete clause in their contract with Fox.
It looks like Fox will have to make a sharp left turn. That means Fox and Friends will drop their pandering folksy country theme, no more Bass Pro Shops, cookouts, veterans and first responders giving interviews, country music, etc.
I’ve never assumed that any journalist was “on my side.” Those people are always going to say and do what the person who signs their paycheck tells them to do, or resign.
Nope. Not today. Found Newsmax. Fox has not been on a single moment since last wednesday. The cable rep we called said they were busy all day with Newsmax sign ups. Mrs. Healy explained why.
Arthel Neville used to be a producer for Bill OReilly and his show years ago (15ish?), and came on-screen a little. I think she served a useful purpose in keeping BOR a little down to earth, but i never thought she was anything but a Leftist.
When she left for CNN was when BORs ego went totally out of control and he became unwatchable.
I will give you one outstanding reason, which you have probably encountered yourself. I have been fortunate or unfortunate to be have been at a dozens of events throughout my life that ultimately get reported in the news; by right- and left-wing journalists. Neither reports accurately. They are unable to answer the fundamental questions of journalism: Who, What, When, Where and sometimes Why (which leads to opinion). What I saw at those events rarely resembles what is reported by journalists. Hence, journalists get it wrong most of the time.
Today exists the technology to see the news live. If you want to see what is going on in Congress, you can tune into C-Span. You can read bills and you can read who voted yea or nay. If you want to see what happens at a Trump rally you can either go or watch the event streamed live in it's entirety without mealy-mouthed commentary from so-called journalists. If you want to see what bLM or Antifa is doing you can watch it streamed live without Baghdad Bob reporting to you the opposite of what you are seeing with your own eyes. Even when it comes to sports, if you wanted to watch, you could turn down the volume and see with your own eyes what is occurring.
I've never understood how people idolize media figures, even people on the right. Can't people think for themselves? There is absolutely nothing special about someone that goes to J-School to learn how to write at a fifth-grade level and ask the five-W's. Jeez, a fifth grader could to that.
There is nothing noble about journalism. They want to be the news because they are fundamentally incapable of doing anything substantial in their lives that would be newsworthy. They are uneducated, ignorant, talentless bums.
Burn down Fox News. Burn down all of traditional media. It's time has passed. There are other ways to get the facts today. I am certainly not interested in the the media's truth.
FOX was in the D category for years. How do you think that the FOX News polls had Biden ahead for the last six months? As for the snake Wallace, hes the same as his daddy was - worthless slime.
Hint: Fox News exists to make money. Period.
If so, how do they plan to do so in 3rd place? Liberals hate Fox and Conservatives are leaving. No viewers = No iincome.
Yes!
People idolize media types because most people are sheep, sad, really.
Bret Baier, Chris Stirewalt, Martha McCallum, Sandra Smith, and Arthel Neville have always been anti-Trump.
“Ive quit watching. And if I dont hear that Doocy and Kilmeade have decided to quit working for Fox, they will lose my respect. But my respect doesnt pay their bills’
Doocy has an approximate net worth of 11 million and 4 million annual salary. Kilmeade the same salary and a net worth of 8 million. If those salary’s are accurate I’d think their net worth is low. If they can’t find a Financial planner and live off that then they are beyond help.
I was speaking more or less historically. This new liberal slant to Faux News has been under the surface for years and years. Look at how many people left Faux News over the years and then showed up on MSDNC or CNN.
I blame the Murdoch boys who want to be invited to all of the cool parties for bringing more of this liberal slant to the surface, as well as the loss of Roger Ailes amid all of the sexual harassment controversy at Faux.
Hey, it's their business and they are free to do as they wish. And we are free to leave...
Correct. I don’t watch much fox but heard Stirewalt enough to know he was a foaming at the mouth never trumper all the way back to primaries 2016. That’s FIVE years. I am surprised this author is just now catching on.
These people have jobs and an employer whose ownership has changed. I read that the sons' wives are big Lefties and Hillary supporters and influence the new company culture. They are the ones behind the change in the direction of the company.
Most of the anchors and hosts and key on-air players have non-compete clauses in their contracts. That means if they leave, they can't work in the industry for at least a year or longer. Most of these folks make enough money that they'd be fine financially, but being out of the limelight at the height of their careers would be hard to deal with.
But if they do stay, they have to change their "tune" and tow the new company line or they'll be disciplined or terminated for cause. Not a good way to go if this is your career.
So, while it's easy to criticize these people for not speaking up and defending Trump more, they are under a lot of pressure behind the scenes to fit into the new company culture and agenda.
I am not being an apologist for Fox News or it's popular on-air players. But as is typical, there is a lot more going on than most people realize. These people all have families and individual issues to deal with whenever there is a drastic change in the internal affairs of the company. What appears at first blush is not always what is going on.
Having seen some similarly affluent people close up, I know that a net worth of $11M doesn't mean you don't have to worry about money. In fact, sometimes you worry much more.
Can Shep Smith come back now?
” add Jedidiah Bila to that list”
And just when Will Cain was hired for the weekend morning show - to have to be paired with her.
Always liked Will Cain educating and giving it back to Stephen Smith on First Take on ESPN.
Will Cain is a lawyer and strong conservative and big Dallas Cowboys fan. I hope he doesn’t get lassoed and collared by his new bosses. Won’t know because I’m not watching.
