Minnesota deer hunter bags 10-point buck — and an alligator

A Minnesota deer hunter had an opening day to remember, bagging a 10-point buck — and an alligator.

Cory Klocek described the odd chain of the events from Saturday’s firearm hunting opener on Facebook, declaring, “only in 2020 can you go out to sit for deer gun season opener in Minnesota and shoot an alligator.”

Klocek theorized the reptile was somebody’s pet until it was released when it grew too big. He said he spotted the gator 10 feet in front of him while tracking the buck near a pond.

Good thing he caught it early. It might have lived long enough to win a seat in The Swamp!

When Craig Ferguson said to Wilford Brimley that Rattlesnake tastes like chicken, paraphrasing Brimley ‘If I want to taste chicken I will eat chicken’

It was probably a pet that got too big for its tank. People don’t seem to realize that a cute baby animal can grow up quickly.

It’s not illegal to shoot an alligator in Minnesota, they’re considered an invasive species and you can kill them at will.

Yes it does. Certainly not hit with any gun you would be deer hunting with. It has been a long year with social isolation and all. Made up fantasy stories need to be “lived”.

Good line. Rattlesnake doesn’t taste like chicken, though, it tastes like snake. (Not bad at all if cooked properly, just not chicken.)

I am thinking the same. I did a quick web search and found there have been a several incidents of that kind of thing around Rochester NY. It could happen anywhere.
