This interview of Victor Davis Hanson with John Anderson of Australia, is very long - but it's very thoughtful and enlightening, if you have the time to watch.
Hanson is one of our greatest thinkers and observers of the US political, historical and social scene:

High points for us who would like to listen but dont have time.
You can always save it until you have an hour to spare.
(What might you do with the odd hour, anyway?)
I wish, but VDH is not someone I am good enough to summarize

Thanks. I used “YouTube to MP3” to create an MP3 file which I will listen to on my phone in the car.
In this particular video, his speaking isn’t as good as his writing always is; but he’s a brilliant man who has keenly understood what has been going on during the whole campaign/election process.
Thank you for the link, I really like and respect VDH.
I think the whole Internet Thing (and -Think) has trained us all to just be able to take in small bits of information at a time. It’s kind of scary:

I watched it and he nails it!
that was great I have already shared it thanks!!
When was interview?
The YouTube video is dated today. The substance seems to bear that out.
Most interesting among his earliest points is that polls and the news media were basically suppressing votes.
(Seems to me that they were doing so much more than simple voter ID would do...)
I think he summarized everything perfectly this was approval of Trumps policies but they hated Trump’s tweets
I have to disagree.
They hated Trump’s entire philosophy; and hated the love and respect that he exhibited toward our foundational American Principles.
Trump’s rough style and tweets were just an easy thing upon which they could hang their hatred, and by which they could suck-up to the public opinion of lots of overly touchy and shallow-thinking Leftists who had no interest in - or ability to comprehend - substance at all.
Back in 2016, a couple of people said that the media took Trump literally, but not seriously; while his supporters took him seriously, but not literally.
Surprisingly, there was never any change in that. For quite a while, now, our vaunted news media seem to have been largely run by people with only high-school level educations and perceptional abilities.
(Or else, they’re just on the make.)
Trump Shrugged: Individual to collectives: CHECKMATE.
Who is Donald John Galt?
Huskrrrr:
I must apologize if my post 16 misinterpreted your own comment.
I was thinking about what we used to call ‘the press’, and now call ‘the media’. I thought you were referencing the portion of the VDH interview that dealt with polling and media pronouncements.
It’s possible that some of the election results are due to individual voters’ distaste for Trump’s style - but I still think that’s a very silly concern, and there have been far more important things than style to consider..
Somehow i missed your reply until now. Thanks for the link. Looks like an interesting book (since I’m so late I may give it for birthdays rather than Christmas)
Yes, the way we process information has significantly changed. Fascinating subject
Hanson is a great thinker
Which makes his sometime myopic GOPe love all the more tragic
