Ball point pen vs “Sharpie” pen for Trump voters?

Posted on 11/06/2020 4:13:18 AM PST by FRinCanada2

Has anyone heard of reports from Trump voters reporting that they were given a “special sharpie” and ordered by poll workers to use THEIR “special sharpie” and not the ball point pens provided by Trump campaign? The argument is that the “Sharpie” ballots were being discarded and NOT counted Using a pen instead of the “approved sharpie” would make it impossible to substitute those ballots for fraudulent ones in the event of a manual recount.

Fact or fiction ?

Laura interviewed an AZ voter last night about this. She, and her neighbors, were given Sharpies to vote. She asked if she could use another pen, because the DEMOCRAT website in AZ warns against using a Sharpie. It may not pick up the vote properly, or may bleed through the ballot and cause issues.

Apparently Republican leaning areas were given Sharpies, while Democrat leaning areas were given ball point pens.

In So. Cal at my polling location I asked if I could use my ball point pin. Nope, “use our marker” (sharpie like ink delivery, but a different design (modern fancy) than the normal Sharpie) They told me don’t mark to long as you don’t want ink bleed through to the back of the paper. I didn’t and it bleed through anyway. It may all mean nothing?

If this is a real issue, it certainly would provide a super simple method to commit vote fraud on a large scale. And the beauty of it is that the fraud would be occurring right out in the open, with the voters themselves invalidating their own ballots simply by voting. No need to hide anything.

When it comes to democrats and fraud, I don’t believe in coincidences. This is too perfect a scheme to simply be a “happy accident” (RIP Bob Ross) that just coincidentally benefits dems.

If this was the case, that sharpie marked ballots were thrown out, then the number of Trump supporters in those precincts would likely be significantly reduced compared to 2016 data...?

Has anyone looked at the numbers...?

PA here.

We had Sharpies, for sure. But I did not see anything OTHER than Sharpies, which were given to everyone and then collected in a bin afterwards.

Adding to your post:

The lady said that she and her friends had read the elections web site before voting and it specifically said that Sharpies would cause problems with reading ballots, and they couldn’t be used.

She knew that going in and, as you said, she declined the Sharpie given to her and asked for a pen. The election worker THREATENED her with some punishment if she didn’t take the Sharpie so she took it.

The next day she and her neighbors, also forced to use Sharpies, logged in to the Elections site and NONE of their ballots had been counted.

SCOTUS needs to weigh in and null/void the election. Too much evidence of tainted/fraudulent votes.

Trump has a 690K advantage in PA, and it’s just whittled away in two days? And every single ballot found - AFTER NOV 3 - just coicidentally happens to be for Biden?

This is complete bullsh*t on so many levels.

I’ll never look at a Sharpie in the same way again.

Absolutely false. This is a facebook rumor designed to confuse and make conservatives look stupid. In my polling place, an elementary school 3 blocks down the street in western Wayne county Michigan, I stood waiting for an open seat for several minutes.

I've lived here for over 35 years I'm not sure when we switched from the old mechanical lever machines to the current pen and paper - you scan your own ballot process but the young man who got up from his seat after finishing his voting used the same pen I used. The pen stays on the desk.

To cast a vote you don't make a check mark or an X, you need to fill in the little oval beside the name. I don't think the pen is a Sharpie brand but they've always been a felt tip, and the ballot is two sided and heavy weight paper.

There's a folder that your ballot stays in while you're not filling it out. When finished you stand in line at the scanner. Your voting stays secret as you feed the ballot into the machine sliding out of the folder. You wait for a few seconds until the scanner says ballot accepted.

A state’s ballots are different from other states’ ballots. The paper/card stock ballots are printed on would make a difference on whether they can be scanned or not. Crappy paper would cause bleeding. Good card stock would be safer.

Also, someone being interviewed said that the hand sanitizers people are using because of Covid is causing problems with the ballot readers.

It is a fact. Don’t really know if it makes a difference in machine counting.

Northern Michigan. Only sharpies were used where I voted. I questioned it and was told it was what they wanted us to use.

At least it will be nice to see media starved of oxygen when trump goes to live in Florida...we can all sit back as the left devours itself in a vacuum on social media

“The election worker THREATENED her with some punishment if she didn’t take the Sharpie so she took it.”

People need to be arrested, prosecuted and jailed.

From here on out I want to have the ability to check my vote, both the status AND who I voted for. I don’t give a damn anymore about anonymity. I want my name attached to my vote — traceable and verifiable. My wife and I are going to hound our congressman for this.

So would “invalid” ballots have been destroyed, or is everything still there for a manual recount?
