To be fair, the only clunker on The Cars’ debut album is I’m in Touch with Your World. It is easily one of the strongest debut albums ever. Interestingly, someone I know who saw them live said they were VERY LOUD.

I saw them live. They generally had the reputation for being stoic on stage. They didn’t have much glitz but that was representative of low-key personalities throughout the band. Almost the anti-rock star rock star. Benjamin Orr lived in rural Georgia and Vermont prior to passing. David Robinson (drummer) lives in a small apartment in a seaside community in Massachusetts. He was on a car show recently having a vehicle refurbished. Ric Ocasek of course had the model wife and lived in NYC but was almost reticent for a star. Elliott Easton taught/teaches music, IIRC. Greg Hawkes lives in a tony Massachusetts suburb life with his wife.
