Most iron and steel contains carbon.

Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon. The carbon content can vary from 0.002% to 2.14% depending upon the desired properties.

Therefore, burning iron is not a zero carbon process.

I was referring to O'Donnell's pronouncement that the collapse of the WTC was 'the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel. I do believe that it defies physics...'.

I thought that was what gundog was referencing.
