Berrien county has population centers of St. Joe, Niles, New Buffalo and /Benton Harbor/.
Benton Harbor is notable as it was one the “Laundry Appliance Center of the World” home to both Maytag and Westinghouse. Both moved to CCP and devastated BH, leaving many hard working blacks unemployed and addicted to welfare. Today, BH is beginning to recover but not quite fully.
In sum, there may be enough red votes in these slow-walking counties to make a real difference if they stay red. It could be a standoff that they win if they report totals after the SE corner of the mitten reports their final.
Ok, yeah.
New Buffalo is populated with geriatrics from Chicago, Madison and Milwaukee.
By the busload.
But, having a very popular casino in that area bodes well because casinos want to really open up.
And, with COVID rules, the geriatrics are staying home.
