Thank you for sharing your story! I appreciate how hard it can be to discuss and I really think it’s helpful for parents and kids to hear.
My daughter sounds quite similar to you—as do many of the other girls I’ve read about/met. No story starts out, “my daughter was confident, self assured and socially successful before she transitioned...”
I’m hopeful that my daughter will internalize what we her family who loves her tells her—she’s perfect the way God made her. We’re taking it one step at a time.
Yes, more specifically, a mental issue.
“Puberty is not a medical condition’ billboard unveiled in Los Angeles; push for other cities starts”
Puberty is a medical condition and transgenderism is a mental condition.
There... fixed it.

I can understand why some teens would view puberty as a disease. I think most of us would have preferred to skip the awkward stage altogether and simply fast-forwarded to being adults. But, to borrow a phrase, from the LGBTWhatever community “It gets better”.

its a mental condition
its a lie, a warping of reality, by twisted minds
Absolutely. Genital mutilation of oneself cannot be construed as the actions of a sound and healthy mind, not to those of us with brains that work at any rate.
I was also a complete tom boy. I hated dresses and dolls. I spent every free moment outside climbing trees or throwing rocks, or fishing. I had no girl friends. Just boys who certainly didn’t see me as dare-worthy. I loved math and science.
And then I started to grow up. I had sudden appreciation of my body. I decided I liked boys for more than baseball. I realized I could do math and catch bugs even if my hair looked nice. I didn’t need to be a boy to be good at camping or hunting. Boys and then men admired me for what I was.
I could use power tools and read blueprints even if I did my nails and wore heels.
I married a real man’s man. I never looked back or elsewhere. He wanted me because I was fearless and not a crybaby. That’s because I was a tom boy and not a girly girl.
I didn’t need to get fixed or to become a boy. I just needed to grow into my own skin.
