The Monthly Fiber Arts Thread is a monthly gathering of people that love yarn and fabric of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first project, to experienced fiber artists and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
It is impossible to hijack the Monthly Fiber Arts Thread. Knitting, crochet, quilting, weaving, general crafting - there is no telling where it will go, and that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us! Send a Private Message to Diana in Wisconsin if you'd like to be added to our Fiber Arts Ping List.
NOTE: This is a once a Month Ping List. We do post to the thread during the month. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to Fiber Arts fans are welcomed any time!
I remember my Grandma making a sweater similar to these. Her cat liked to 'suckle' on the bobbles, so she always had to hide it, LOL!
Thanks for the link! We’re doing handmade gifts for Christmas this year, and I love those, especially the Scrubbing Bobbles! Hee hee!
I just received six rolls of the Peaches & Cream ‘Scrubb Off’ in blue, cream and green.
As soon as I’m done with another Baby Blanket for ‘Project Linus’ I’m back to working on the scrubbie dish cloths. :)
But, you know, when offered - take the Diamonds, too! ;)
I’ve been knitting my brains out making scarves and hats.
The dish clothes are next!
And for anyone who needs a giggle, click on this link...
It’s got everything: a cat, crochet, and MickeyD’s.
I'm always a sucker for plush toys. Lots of ways to personalize these bunnies. So cute! Free pattern at link, below.
So far I have made a dozen Baby Blankets for 'Project Linus' a new afghan for our bedroom, Preemie Caps for a WI Social Welfare program that REMINDS YOU to NOT shake your Baby *Rolleyes*, a few scarves for the 'Foster Care to Success' college kids, and tons of kitchen dish cloths for family and friends. And, yarn is currently on order for an afghan that Beau wants for the couch up at our cabin. I'm set for winter projects!
Beau has asked me to crochet an afghan (my usual Blue-Ribbon Winning Pattern) for the hunting cabin that he can use while he's dozing on the couch after hunting, watching the one and only PBS station that comes in on the TV. I was looking through, 'junk mags' while we were watching College Football and said, 'How about THESE color combinations?' and he said, 'Yes!'
The yarn arrived from Hobby Lobby this afternoon.
Turquoise, Terra Cotta, Coffee, Sea Blue, Black & Taupe from, 'I Love This Yarn.'
Of course, the room at the cabin where it's going to 'live' won't do it justice. Think: Man Cave, paneling, shag carpet, your Grandma's old, plaid furniture and little to no LIGHT coming through any dirty window. BUT I am always up for a challenge! 🙂
