The shooting happened Friday afternoon while the officers were on patrol. The officers had no contact with the suspect before he opened fire at their vehicle, Superintendent Shaun Ferguson told reporters.

One officer, a four-year veteran, was hit by a bullet in the left cheek, just below his eye. He is in serious condition and is stable. The bullet is lodged in his skull, Ferguson said at a news conference near the scene.

The other officer, a 16-year veteran, had minor abrasions. Both were taken to a hospital by fellow officers who came to the scene. The officer who was shot was responsive and able to walk into the hospital, Ferguson said.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was sent to a hospital, the superintendent said. Ferguson added that the man, who would not identify himself, "appeared to be under some sort of medical condition."

A pedicab? Not exactly the best choice of getaway vehicle.

New Orleans cops have slipped if he only went to the hospital for a pre-existing condition.

For those like me who refuse to click on a link that takes me to CNN, here is an article from the Washington Examiner:

Police officers 'ambushed' and shot at in New Orleans by man in pedicab

The perp was located ad arrested:

"Other, additional responding officers located the perpetrator," Ferguson said. "He was arrested without incident. He appeared to be under some sort of medical condition. We're not sure what it is at the time, but we took the necessary precautions in transporting him to the hospital."

Ferguson emphasized that the suspect was taken to the hospital due to concerns regarding his mental state, saying that the suspect was not harmed and that police did not use their weapons when he was apprehended.

Take the suspect to a butcher shop.

Anyone who attacks a police officer with a deadly weapon should be given a life prison sentence with no parole possibility. If such an attack results in the death of the officer, the criminal should be executed.

HIPPA would prevent them from saying paranoid schizophrenia or dissociative disorder they would just say exactly what they did a medical condition. People under obvious mental health distress get taken to a hospital first for an evaluation.

Eerily, this could be a Twilight Zone episode where this exact type of MSM report comes out when average citizens are targeted in the future by the thought police. You know, citizens being pushed to the breaking point, when voting, peaceful protesting and the legal system fails.

#8. “Under medical condition” means a cop-hating killer who believes in the BLM, Antifa, Al Sharpton or the Congressional Black Caucus.

A few more SCOTUS appointments and we’ll “fix” these Capital Punishment delays and “loopholes.”
