Spotify has defended allowing Infowars conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to appear as a guest on Joe Rogan's podcast, saying it won't censor conservative voices just because some may not agree with them.
In a memo to staff, Horacio Gutierrez, the companys chief legal officer and head of global affairs, said that the platform would not ban people from going on others' shows just because staff may not agree with their views.
'Spotify has always been a place for creative expressions. Its important to have diverse voices and points of view on our platform.
'We are not going to ban specific individuals from being guests on other peoples shows, as the episode/show complies with our content policies. In closing, we appreciate that not all of you will agree with every piece of content on our platform,.
'However, we do expect you to help your teams understand our role as a platform and the care we take in making decisions,' the memo said.
Later, CFO Paul Vogel told Yahoo Finance: 'We have millions of tracks and millions of podcasts and content on the platform.
'Some of the content people are going to like, some you're not going to like.
'We have standards and policies in place. And if someone violates our standards and policies, they'll be removed.
'And if not, we'll continue to have a diverse set of voices on our platform.'
It was after Jones appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience which sparked backlash among Spotify's predominantly left-wing supporters and staff.
Listeners had already complained about Rogan, another right-wing voice, for claiming among other things in his podcast that the Californian wildfires were started by the radical left.

Now THAT is a smart move, and they must stick with it. They must sense which way the election is going, and how many troubles and cans of whoop-ass are gonna be unleashed on Facebook , Twitter, Google, et.al. come 2021-—the official vote count will be finished by then, right..........? right...........?
“employee’s”
Maybe leftards should be running the country. I mean, easy as it is, so many of us cannot master the use of the apostrophe.
Here’s your sign.
Seems like the business plan includes having eyeballs glued to the Spotify website.
They should fire the narrow-minded employees instead.
What belongs to the employees?
Just because there is an *S* at the end of the word does NOT mean an apostrophe is used. Plural does NOT use an apostrophe. POSSESSIVE tense does!
Rudolf Hess was the editor for Adolph Hitler’s biography “Mein Kampf”. That makes him the original “Grammar Nazi”.
See my #6
Good for Spotify, I won’t cancel them
They made the right choice, now why are still employing snot nosed, entitled, immature adult children???
The term “grammar nazi” was first used by leftwads. It’s theirs.
The appropriate term is “educated person.”
“Listeners had already complained about Rogan, another right-wing voice”
Joe Rogan is not “right-wing”. He’s a Bernie Sanders supporter.
“for claiming among other things in his podcast that the Californian wildfires were started by the radical left.”
They were.

It is truly stunning how many apostrophes are thrown around these days! Here, there, everywhere! If in doubt, thrown in an apostrophe, just in case lol.
Spotify still has it up.
Well, for one thing, Rogan is NOT “right-wing”, he is a Libertarian.
I had forgot about that.. strike my post then (I thought he was a Liebertarian).
I liked Joe Rogan when he was a guest on Meat Eater (Netflix)
He never hunted before and got bored and ended up leaving.
