The Los Angeles Dodgers finally tasted victory in October on Tuesday, winning the 2020 World Series. The ratings of the contest itself werent nearly as victorious.
Game 6 of this years World Series, a 3-1 Dodgers win to clinch the series, drew in 12.6 million viewers, according to the Associated Press. That made it the most-watched game of the series, but also cemented an ignominious record for the 2020 Fall Classic.
The series ended up averaging 9.785 million viewers per game, shattering the record for lowest average viewership in a World Series, according to The Athletics Richard Deitsch. Having been a SoCal resident for over 20 years, Im glad the Dodgers finally won something. Im happy for my son who wasnt born when they last won. But, in this truncated season, how can anyone think this is a real World Series win??
Again, congrats to all Dodger fans. We went to see the games many, many times. Hope they can someday win a full season World Series.

However, the structure of MLB is not fair to small market teams. The revenue generated by the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cubs, etc so greatly exceeds the revenue of the A’s, Brewers, Pirates, etc that hey can not afford the more expensive players.
Therefore, it is hard for those teams to compete with the teams that have a higher payroll.
The Rays winning the American League is awesome. Especially beating teams like the Red Sox, Yankees and Houston with much higher payrolls.
Take another knee.
Ron Cey had a good performance.
Oh yeah The Penguin. Those Dodgers teams had a great infield with Garvey, Lopes and Russell. I do not know why Garvey is not in the Hall of Fame.
