“Not so Breaking News”...there are HV transmission lines near all major earthquake faults in the USA...so the correlation is understandable. ;-)

Well gee whiz, dutchsinse has been studying earthquakes forever. You’d think if it was so darn common, he wouldn’t be so excited and surprised.

I know nothing about any of this stuff, but somehow it doesn’t seem like a good idea to put the huge power lines and power generating plants on fault lines-what say you?

And the epi centers for these earthquakes he’s looking at are really close to the fault lines. Did you watch the video?

Probably because the right of way is more easily acquired in those areas. The joke among geologists in the Bay Area was that you play connect the dots with the schools and hospitals in the east bay to map the Hayward fault...
