Shaver claimed self-defense and was acquitted. I am very sorry about the incident, Shaver said afterward. Hopefully, things will work out where we become friends enough so that he gives me back my bullet. I like this guy.

I purchased my first Shaver cd “Salt of the Earth” from a bargain bin many, many years ago. Remains one of my top 20 cd’s every. How Billy Joe carried on after the death of his son must have been difficult even for the hard-nosed outlaw like Billy. RIP

A true legend indeed. My wife and I saw him with a full band in a tiny venue in Virginia a few years ago. I’ve been to many live shows and that was in my top five. I’m glad I got to see him perform before he died.
