Looters in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia ransacked a Walmart during the second night of protesting the shooting of an armed Black man on the city’s west side. Rioters broke pipes in the ceiling, flooding the store.
Fox29 reporter Steve Keeley tweeted video from inside the pillaged Walmart early Wednesday morning. The footage shows the devastation left behind by looters who stole everything from big-screen televisions to small appliances. Water is seen spraying from pipes in the ceiling.
The unrest began after two officers shot and killed an armed Black man, Walter Wallace, Jr. Video captured by a witness shows Wallace advancing on two police officers around a car and into the street. Officers ordered Wallace repeatedly to drop the knife.
Wallace continued approaching the retreating officers with the knife extended toward the police. Multiple shots rang out and Wallace fell to the ground. A responding police officer loaded Wallace into a vehicle and drove him to the hospital. He later died from his wounds.

When I worked wholesale delivery in Watts (Los Angeles CO.) In the 1980s there were no supermarkets. One abandoned shopping center after another had one liquor store open. Sometimes it would be inside a large, empty former retail store fenced off by chain link. Many had armed security. A can of soup cost a dollar, when everywhere else it would be 35 cents. These were the results of the 1965 riot.
As an all to often WMT shopper, I agree with you 100%. Looters should have to look elsewhere. WMT has to get tough on looters by taking itself away as a target.
It’s not enough to steal everything. It’s almost like a metaphor for civilization.
They think the world revolves around them, they deserve all the attention, everyone picked on them, they were discriminated against, so they are somehow owed a fine shopping experience. If suburban respectable people trashed and looted and flooded the nice stores then they, too, would be without them.
This is more like "If you don't like the jail time then don't commit the crime." Stop acting up like toy throwing tots.

Someone said W-Mart just thinks in terms of how much money do the shoppers make for us versus insurance costs and losses in riots. Dollars and cents.
Besides, if WalMarts are gone then what will we do without the brawls and mechandise flying off the toppling shelves as shoppers fight each other in hair pulling battles?
