I am in the market for a new mattress, our memory foam mattress has given out, and I've ended up sleeping in a 'trench' for the past few months and it's time to replace it with a new one.
At 5'10" and about 185, I'm not a monster who has smashed the bed.
I'm certainly open to another memory foam type, it was very good when it was newer, but I'd like to hear from others.
What are you using, how satisfied are you with your choice, and how long have you had it?
Thanks to everyone who takes time to respond.
I like my sleep number. You can adjust the firmness by inflating or deflating with the electronic pump. They have mattresses with two sides do you and spouse can set firmness seperately. Also have adjustables so you can watch TV or if you have need to raise your head.

Lots of comparative info at this company’s website.
That’s a good bed go for these days?
I need one for just me.
Unfortunately :)
Bed I’m on is shot.
I fall asleep on the couch a lot but I think it’s best to have a bed.
We had a sleep comfort (air type) Rush was pushing 30 plus years...hated getting rid of it...but sheesh, it was time. New one is nice (latex)
The Original Mattress Factory in Atlanta, GA.
I like the Sleep Number 360 which is actually a computer system that you sleep on. The thing automatically adjusts its softness in different places as you move around and records your heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, restless time, and out-of-bed time to compute a sleep score that you track on your phone. Its amazing how you start changing your habits to get a better sleep score. Very Pavlovian.
By the time you add an adjustable base, heated foot covering, air flow sheets, and the usual mattress covers and sheets you’re out about $9K. They do an annual sale where you can cut this by about 40% but its not a discount mattress store.
“Id do it again in a heartbeat.”
I concur! Tempurpedic all the way!
They do sleep a bit warm, but easy peasy, we have a fan.
Tried Helix, Purple, both Caspers, Walmart, one Amazon, Ikea - just twin size - all last about 30-60 days. All returned. They all start to canoe, loose their support. I don’t have the $k for a Prana. When I can afford it, after a lot of research, I may drop the $1000 on an Avocado. Great reviews and you have a year to try it out. I could care less that it’s ‘all natural’.
OMG sounds wonderful but I would never want to get out of bed!! LOL, LOL!!
Tempurpedic
Willie Brown has a used mattress - but it costs six figures a year, and has a few stains...
Same here...I'm 70 and wife is 72 and we both agree best bed we ever had.
Thinking about moving it to the guest room and buying another that has the adjustable setting for incline on both sides.

Bought an Avocado mattress in July....love it and havent ever slept this well.
Avocado has a 1 yr try out period.
The Helix, double bed, was $800 plus, mattress only. Came with free pillows, but they are not that good, too squishy.
Have not had it 30 days yet.
Spinal Comfort from Elkhart Bedding — a local company. (Made in USA) We decided it was Hubs’ call because of his health issues. It’s great and was reasonably priced.
A good mattress will likely go for anywhere between $500 - $3K....
This thead should give you a LOT of good suggestions.
