Maybe it’s OK. After all, we are going to need somewhere to put the monuments to CWII.

This is no civil war. Globalists owe their allegiance to foreign powers, remember.

As long as it was the choice of the people, it is OK. Being torn down and destroyed is another thing altogether.

Not the choice of the people. This is Democrats acting unilaterally, and against state law.

Was there a vote or did the people who own the statue have a say? I apologize for not going to the link.

“ Madison County Commissioner JesHenry Malone, in a statement, said the county finally took action after a state commission created in 2017 to protect historic monuments failed to respond in a timely way to the commission’s request to remove the memorial.

Looks like someone chose to miss a deadline. Kind of a “no lo contendre” plea. Not exactly torn down without due process, by a mob.

Have the AL people renamed the Edmund Pettus Bridge? I understand many are so stuck on incumbency that Doug Jones could well win a six-year term.

“Some history on this statue....it wasn’t erected in the 20-year period after the war.”

There was little money available in the South for memorials in the first 20 years after the war.

The Washington Memorial in Washington was not erected in the first 20 years after the Revolutionary War. Think about that.

Looked more like the Huntsville Democratic mob refused to wait for the deadline or whatever; the claim about “timely manner” says absolutely nothing about deadlines. I take all Democratic claims as lies.

Referendums do not override state law.

Did you read the article? The county asked the commission responsible to respond to their request. The commission ignored their request. Seems to me the people “in charge” didn’t care.

That’s a problem with the people on the commission, don’t ya think.

Government works when the government “works.” They didn’t do their job.

Her parents were both Indian nationals, she was born an Indian national. Not a natural born citizen.

Yes Haily panicked and the girly men around the governor insisted Confederate statues must go. One part of the phenomenon of ‘staffers’ since the &)’s want to cocoon whoever they work for to become ‘indispensable’ to whoever. These jerks act as gate keepers and a big filter for ranking politicos. They convince their VIP, that every visit and appearance requires more planning than the Versailles Conference. Also, VIPs, are constantly fed BS about greatly exaggerated security issues so the VIP will be reluctant to county seat one day to talk with real people, not the carefully vetted stooges introduced by handlers for a two minute photo op.

Yes I did read it. The commission is not put on a timetable by the county. I also don’t regard AP reporting as unbiased, or defenses of the misbehavior of Democratic Party members as valid.

She got this ball rolling.
I knew when she did it, it wouldn’t stop.
And it won’t stop with just Confederate, either.

She didn't start this.   Leftists have been doing it for the past thirty years or more.   Saul Alinsky taught them how to do it.

Regarding the Georgia State Flag:

Political pressure for a change in the official state flag increased during the 1990s, in particular during the run-up to the 1996 Olympic Games that were held in Atlanta. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) focused on the Georgia flag as a major issue and some business leaders in Georgia felt that the perceptions of the flag were causing economic harm to the state. In 1992, Governor Zell Miller announced his intention to get the Confederate element removed, but the state legislature refused to pass any flag-modifying legislation. The matter was dropped after the 1993 legislative session.[citation needed] Many Atlanta residents and some Georgia politicians refused to fly the 1956 flag and flew the pre-1956 flag instead.
Once they get one thing changed they go after the next salami slice.   Nikki Haley isn't that old.
