How are you able to copy/paste the gif?
Twitter gifs are not copy/paste-able as far as I know.
It’s like screen capture only you select the tweet with the gif instead of an photo.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/sharex.mirror/
It’s a free download (program) to do 1000 things and I’ve never followed the directions or read HOW to do those things, but by making several hideous mistakes I have figured out some of the features, including the GIF.
I may have to break down and read the directions because many of my gifs aren’t good. But I’m learning.
I may actually have to read the instructions to make a scrolling screen capture - faking it is NOT working!
But, I recently stumbled across some utitlity that makes high quality (I think) captures of Twitter video. I threw the information I saw in an email and threw it at bagster, hoping he would figure it out.

If anyone is willing here 'tis:
"....a few tweets down there’s a video equivalent to a THREADWRAP wherein an automated program notifies the Twitter user that the video is available for download.
At the link, even though I don’t have a twitter account, I can download the video to my hard drive as an MP4.
That would have to be converted to GIF to be of use but I am encouragedthat there is hope that one can download twitter videos to prevent them from being erased.
Here’s the link. At the link, the video plays and if you right click, you have an option to save it.
