This is going to be an election unlike any other, especially considering the totalitarian waiving of many established (by legislatures) election rules by fiat, without input from the constitutional decision makers. Hence, “Election Day” will likely be drawn out into election week, or even month.
In light of this anomaly, a regulation should be put in place (by the same fiat) that NO ELECTION RESULTS BY ANY STATE ARE TO BE RELEASED ON ELECTION DAY. In fact, the latest date that mailed ballots are to be accepted (California allows 17 FREAKIN’ DAYS) should be the date that states report their election tallies. Otherwise, after-the-fact “voting” is too much of a temptation for one particular side to resist, when they know just how many votes are needed to swing a key state.
Of course, this can be countered by states deliberately muddying the waters by not reporting COMPLETE counts on Election Day, and throwing the fraudsters off balance. But on balance, a DOUBLE BLIND ballot count is the best way to ensure that one side doesn’t monkey with the counts for days on end.
Nah. I think Pres. Trump is declared the winner before midnight on Election Day.
I don’t know that this is the right answer. If we had a functioning legislative and judicial system, this would be a non issue, but apparently many legislators and judges have problems with plain English. Judicial impeachments need to begin

Yeah... No. there are enough asshats screwing around with our elections. We don’t need ad-hoc and ill-considered last-minute rule changes that’ll only serve to drag things out unnecessarily.
Missouri will come in on election night as usual, unless St Louis pulls some funky stuff.
There are only a handful of states doing the mail-in voting and two of them have been doing it in previous years. More than half the states should be doing things fairly normally.
Quick closure is a necessity in these processes to minimize fraud and avoid a year 2000-style stalemate for months. I’d settle for one week to declare the counts and the winner. Anything else is ripe for fraud.
Fortunately that’s not going to happen by fiat0. It will happen in some states like it always does.

I would think that if the results for a given state are known then they should be announced.
As long as there aren’t 100,000 ballots still outstanding that can be legally counted. That’s my point.
Hopefully the win will be so decisive anchor babes will be wailing and screaming on the set and it will be determined late on November 3.
