Here is a video on the construction of the (at the time) world's tallest wind turbine at Canyon, TX, south of Amarillo.
WTA&M hosts the only site in the US for UL certification of wind turbines. This one will be here for a couple of years. The design is intended for overseas markets, such as Brazil.

It takes a lot of fossil fuels to make one of those.
I wonder what the break-even point is on operating one is.

In the northeast corner of NYS, one farmer is leasing 1000 acres for a solar plant at @ 1000 bucks an acre.
he'll be taking in 1 million a year.

And then there’s the disposal costs. These things will go into landfills.

Democrat Response: Well, there are still 2 blades left on the turbine, so at least you can run it at more than half power.

That will buff right out.

That certainly doesn’t look like a U-Ship item, does it?
To: caww
WHO makes them? This would take an amazing facility.
To: mewzilla
Landfills are refusing them...

“...hed sing a different tune”
I worked with some that lived near the windmills of northern Illinois.
And everyone of them said they sing a tune of some kind?
The windmills make an audible noise, uncomfortable for some.
Much less noise when the blade breaks?

still 2 blades left on the turbine, so at least you can run it at more than half power.
Like having a fuel injector or two plugged up.
Runs rough, but will get you to work.
