Today was day 2 of early voting at a polling location in Colorado. The polling location I went to is about 15 miles north of Denver. I went today as I thought that any bugs would be resolved and the polling personnel would have the routine down. I walked in at 11 a.m. and surrendered my mail in ballot. I was given a form to fill out and then proceeded to the desk where I presented my ID and was then given the option of filling out a paper ballot or using the touchscreen. I elected to use the touchscreen. I completed the process and turned in the paper form that was generated. I was the only one there and I was in and out in about 20 minutes.
So what do they do with the mail ballot that is surrendered? How do people know that those aren’t filled out and added in the vote totals?
Sounds like Colorado will go Trump!

I saw them destroy the mail ballot.
Do they require the mail ballot be brought?

Good or bad? I suspect even though many are waiting for election day, wouldn’t you think more Trump voters would now be getting to the polls early.

Doubtful. CO has been overrun by CA & IL locusts.
Someone, I forget who, said CO could flip but I just don’t see it unless all the young immigrants went home to mommy & daddy when schools and hospitality jobs were closed down.
So why go to the trouble of mail-in ballot only to end up voting in person????? Liberals....
When college students are stuck at home and away from their friends the last thing on their minds is going to vote. Young people are pack animals and when they are isolated from the pack they do not have much initiative.
After this election there will be be a lot of griping and recriminations about the blue state lockdowns among the far left.
Professors would also encourage students to vote with incentives but getting an absentee ballot from your home state requires planning and scheduling. Students don’t care enough to vote and their lazy lockdown routine is pretty set.
Clinton won Colorado by about 136,000 in 2016. I am not seeing anywhere near the same level of support for Biden. Between Dem’s not voting, some switching to Trump, is it enough to make up the 150 to 200 thousand?
Maybe, but that is a big hurdle to overcome.
I don’t know CO, but yes if you requested a mail in ballot and the. Want to vote in person you must surrender your mail in ballot in order to be allowed to vote... if you don’t have the ballot to surrender, you will at best be given a provisional ballot and, when the check the records if there is no mail in ballot for you then your provisional ballot will be counted.
Colorado has "all mail" elections - sadly. So I don't think the one sent is required when going in to physically vote. Their system tracks if a vote was cast twice.
Tracking a vote cast twice means nothing, you can’t take away an anonymous vote once its counted. You have to prevent one of the votes from counting.
So you either surrender the mail in vote if you requested it, and get put on a machine, or you get a provisional ballot.
I don’t know CO rules but detecting 2 votes does nothing. You have to prevent one of the two from bring counted.
They scan all incoming ballots.
The scan shows that the voter already cast their vote.
I voted for Trump yesterday in Colorado Springs.
We went to the polling place. Two different ladies helping two totally different experiences. In the end all went well.
We did not have to provide the mail-in ballots we received in the mail. In fact, the local GOP office said it was best we leave those at home. We provided our ID and filled out a form. We then filled out our electronic ballot, (not electronic voting machine - they had electronic voting machines 4 years ago) the electronic ballot was a glorified huge tablet that printed out a piece of paper with the information and a SCAN code - which I placed in a privacy screen and put the paper ballot into the ballot box.
I was surprised that there were no lines - we went early afternoon. The people were nice, as they always are. I just hate the mail-in ballots. I did not know that this is how they vote in Colorado before I moved here. It is very beautiful here, but Florida is sounding better and better all the time.
In Colorado you can track your ballot. I tracked mine and it says I voted in person. We destroyed the mail-in ballots we received. My ballot was not provisional!
I very much doubt that Colorado will go Trump. Down here in the Springs things are pretty conservative. My hair stylist, runs her own business, said she does not think Biden will be the next president and that her female customers despise Harris. Nuff said.

From the time I got out of the car, turned in the old ballot, filled out the form to vote there, show my ID, make sure that ALL the 40+ items were checked off and checked to make sure that the machine was accurate, I would say that I was out and back at my car in about 20 minutes. No one was there so there was no big rush.
