Let's divide 36,000 by 330,000.

Did you mean to say 330,000,000?

First off, there are not 330,000,000 drivers in the U.S. Those under 15 never drive, or are not allowed to drive I should say. There are also many people who are old and cannot drive. There are people who are blind and cannot drive. There are those with infirmities that prevent them from driving. There are those who are too terrified to drive. There are those who drive short distances, as well as, those that drive very limited times a month. Well you get the picture.

In addition there have been some improvements made to reduce the number of deaths from auto accidents. Such as seat belts, and more importantly air bags to name but two of these improvements. One requires the driver to participate, while the other does not require the driver to actively participate as it is a function built into the vehicle.

So while you are technically correct that there are fewer deaths if we use the deaths that gets bandied around as gospel. But you are wrong if we use the CDC estimate that only 7% of the deaths were caused by the virus alone, as that number of virus deaths is smaller than the number of traffic fatalities.

So you see, it all depends on the validity of the data, and which data you choose to employ.

There were also two strong motivators to pad the number of virus deaths.

The first being political motivations, we are in an election year and the Democrats have a loser, and by all accounts most likely very corrupt, as their candidate while President Trump has been very successful.

The second being economic motivations, as the hospitals were paid more for those who died from the virus.

So while figures may never lie, liars are always figuring how to present the figures to make their case. Never forget that. 8>)

There are 227 million licensed drivers, but you don't have to be a driver to be killed in a traffic accident. 99+% of the 330 million population has been in a vehicle in the last year. Even if they are 3 years old, blind, or too old to drive. Drivers and passenger alike benefit from seat belts.

I think you might be misunderstanding the CDC report. They didn't say 6% were caused they by the virus alone, they said only 6% of deaths didn't have other underlying conditions. It makes no judgement on how the people died. Either way, it is a distinction without a difference. You get covid, go to the hospital, get a blood clot and die, whether you believe covid or the clot is the "cause", it wouldn't have happened without covid. Look at the excess deaths - we are at 279,000 more than last year. Where do you think that is coming from?
