As the election cycle reaches its peak in turbulence, it's hard to cast our minds past Election Day, or tomorrow, for that matter, but a crucial question hangs in the air. Will the transition of power or preservation of power be peaceful? Even though both parties are prepared for legal battles over the results, the dispute may and likely will not remain strictly legal. And even though the Constitution and federal law ensure that even if the election is contested in court, the country will have a president on Inauguration Day, how can we rest assured that there will be no "peaceful protests" involving riots and violence?
The political climate is as hot as Californian summer, and it feels as if one spark may start a fire in that poorly managed political forest. Many envision President Donald Trump's supporters using misinformation to mobilize vigilante militias to clash with leftist protesters. Notably, there is no doubt that the Democrats won't cede the streets in the case of Trump's victory. Others are rightfully concerned that violent left-wing groups will refuse to accept the results and mobilize, leading to violence and deaths across the country. During the first presidential debate, both Donald Trump and Joe Biden voiced their concerns about political violence coming from the other side. The risk is high, indeed.
Divided we stand
American politics has gotten extremely polarized. According to a substantial PRRI study, "Fractured Nation: Widening Partisan Polarization and Key Issues in 2020 Presidential Elections" on the nation's culture wars and partisanship, Americans have diametrically different values and perspectives on America itself.

I am afraid that the radical left wants the country burned down...win or lose.
When Hunters violent pedophile videos get further confirmation, so many will be voting for Trump that there will be no doubt Trump won, so no major issue is left to fight over.
None of this stuff is being done by conservatives, and while there are thousands of useful idiots on the left, the violence is being perpetrated, I think, by a relative few number - hundreds - who move from city to city causing trouble.
This Antifa movement should be treated as the terrorist organization it is, and those arrested during riots should not be released right back onto the streets to move on to the next trouble site.
BLM is just a continuation of whiners we've been dealing with for the last 40 years, their numbers bulked up by similarly whiny indoctrinated whites. PITA but they rely on the Antifa brown shirts to stir up trouble.
The Media-Dem Party violated the Peaceful Transition of Power that had existed in this country for over 200 years. Since then the entire party has been taken over by the extreme radical left, so I think no matter the outcome on election day the radicals are hell-bent on a total transformation of the country into their own warped image. Violence will be visited upon us no matter what. The overwhelming majoority of their violence will be directed at the cities that have already been shaken by their violence. Their attempts to spread their violence will be met with armed resistance in most places.
There will be unrest in the cities on a wider scale than 2016 but if that turns into a march into the Suburbs, then this will get hot. You are not going to attack my home
“Transition” means a change in administrations. There’s not going to be one.
The Left and its minions will of course throw a schitt-fit, but if there’s a decent response to it, it will be short.
Let them burn their own nests.
They know they dare not try that crap in what they call “Trumpville.”
bump
There will be riots in the cities driven on by dimrat politicians and their media.
Prepare accordingly.
You are assuming that the majority of Americans will even hear about this story even if it is allowed to circulate in public.
By election day only a few will have ever heard of this story.
Oh they do. The destruction of the USA is their objective. They want to destroy it and replace it with a communist oligarchy on the model of Communist China or North Korea.
I like Reagan's strategy in dealing with the evil: "We win. They lose."
Look how little control POTUS has of the DOJ and IC. I’d say the revolution is already over and we lost.
Cambodia. The cities were emptied.
They lack the ability to literally burn the country
Their power to burn is restricted to the cities that are their power base. They can loot and pillage and burn only with the complicity of police.
I see ten misleading Biden ads to every Trump ad I see on TV.
Things do not look good for Trump.
Trump is ignoring the fact that Biden appears not to know we have a federal Center for Disease Control, a US Public Health Service and a Food and Drug Administration with thousands of federal experts combating Covid. Did Joe sleep on the federal payroll for 40 years?
Hopefully, we can hold the Senate.
The drive-by media is responsible for this. They have drawn attention to these riots with the deliberate purpose of propagandizing America into believing that the riots are a growing consensus (gay marriage anyone?).
It has backfired, wholesale. It backfired because America is overwhelmingly good. The good people of America reject violent riots. Ironic because the Left wants everyone to believe America is bad.
I resist the urge to smack my TV when a Biden ad appears. I switch off the surge suppressor.
Define ‘violent’. IF it is simply the libs will riot then it is 100%.
Have commercials filled with drive by pictures of burnt buildings and looted stores showing the massive levels of destruction.
Sorry, Nancy, I don’t feel like giving more welfare to Joe Biden’s most staunch supporters.
