I continuously receive text messages from someone posing as Martha McSally, Newt Gingrich, Don Jr., Mitch McConnell and a half dozen more; scolding me for not responding to their pitches. Does this outfit really think I’d turn my plastic number over to some unknown bandits on the ‘net?! Well, when I receive one I instantly delete it. They don’t like that.
If these solicitations were legit, they would take a tiny bit more time to make them look legit. These so called fundraisers spend 80 million to raise 100 million, which is why trump only had a few hundred million after raising 1.2 billion over the past year at the start of the campaign season. (And don’t tell me it’s oganizing costs etc.) 80% of the money raised is paid to the people raising the money. They could afford to make the texts look legit.
Can I say that it is scary to think if any number of freepers would give a second thought to giving money to an unsolicited text that claims to be from a politician, then we are not really any more intelligent than the other side?
You people are scaring me!
Yep - I always delete the texts because I do my donating by actively going to the site I want to use...will NEVER hit a link received in a text.
My wife got a text the other day saying her FedEx package had shipped and it had a link “to track”...she had me look at it and I deleted it but researched to find it’s one of the attempts to distribute some nasty viruses.
Sounds like you need to sign your co-worker up for some things.
Because I want to know how ths works
If you send me $100, I will 5000X send a donation to your candidate. Trust me!
