I suggest that the Senate offer the following Covid relief proposals in separate bills:
1. A federal unemployment weekly top-up of $300 (inclusive of Trump's diversionary payments) for up to 16 weeks prior to April 2021.
2. A retrospective residential rent/mortgage payment help program of up to 20% of amount paid by tenant/mortgagor for March through October 2020 rent/mortgage payment past due amounts, up to $2000 for a household, if requested by the tenant/mortgagor and accepted prior to December 22, 2020 by the landlord/mortgagee to cure all deliquency for that period, to be administered by a court empowered to issue an eviction order in the jurisdiction. Program payment to be collected back by the IRS from the tenant in the same manner as PPACA penalties would have under previous Democratic legislation.
3. A prospective residential rental/mortgage relief program for November 2020 to March 2021, to be administered by an agency designated by state law or state governor, offering no more than the smaller of: A. 30% of the HUD monthly fair market rent for a housing unit of the same type B. $400/month/household C. the amount of rent/interest reduction given in writing to the Secretary of HUD by the landlord/mortgagee for the month that lies below the lowest of at least four monthly rental/mortgage interest amounts paid by the tenant/mortgagor to the landlord/mortgagee for the household's housing unit prior to July 15, 2020.
4. A payment of $200 for each K-12 public school pupil physically in public school on the first day for which attendance was counted at the school for the 2020-2021 school year, payable to the public school district.
5. An "Eat Out to Help Out" restaurant subsidy scheme along British lines but at a 30% rate and $15 maximum running Monday through Wednesday from 10 days after enactment through March 31, 2021.
aka: welfare payments...
I got a better idea,
end the lockdowns...
open everything up...
remove any and all restrictions...
then there will be no need for all this extra cash from the feds...
oh, by the way, if the fed has this much extra cash just lying around, then we pay WAY to much in taxes...
There are no Covid restriction imposed under Florida law I believe.
The Trump administration’s CDC is blocking evictions.
As long as it does so, should federal help be provided to pay rents?
30% meal subsidy out
12% FICA tax in
2.9% Medicare tax in
7% state sales tax in
The actual tax subsidy is about 10%, less when other tax payments are factored in.
+1000!!
I got a better idea,
end the lockdowns...

remove any and all restrictions...
This ^^^^^^^^ 100%.
Why Americans ever allowed this to get this far is beyond me. We have truly forgotten what freedom looks like.
The rent and mortgage help provisions typically have landlords and mortgage companies chipping in, reducing their cost.
Program three has a PPACA style repayment provision.
CDC has no authority in any way, shape or form to block eviction.
None.
when the government can do whatever it wants, and you need their permission to open your business, have a large wedding for your kid or go to the beach, it’s over.
It doesn’t matter with only about two weeks to election time and the election ruined by a small, noisy contingent of Internet freaks with crazy conspiracy theories from the foreign fringes of our country. Most of you are focused too much on your own trivial personal concerns and unaware of the damage about to be done to your lives by the new Democrats.
Pelosi will not agree as it does not allow ballot harvesting/vote fraud or paying off the debt the democrats have created in their states. Or money to various off shore banks.
