It is time the world faced down the scourge of charitable colonialism. When the capitalist world sends food and medicine for free to the developing socialist world, ostensibly to alleviate hunger and disease and recover from disasters, it also has the insidious effect of making the poor of the world feel gratitude to evil capitalists. This gratitude is a form of colonialism which diverts the poor's attention from the necessary revolution to destroy capitalist oppression. When free food and medicine arrives in ports thus colonized, it must be diverted to the use of the revolution when possible and otherwise destroyed. Only then will the oppressed be fully conscious of their oppression and redouble their efforts to destroy evil capitalism.

To be perfectly honest, having lived and worked in many third world countries;
Our charitable help many times does more harm than good. So much food showed up in Ethiopia during the famine, that it put regular farmers out of business and kept the country incapable of supporting itself for decades. Many times, the food is diverted to the ruling party or the local warlord and never actually gets to the people.
Better to send money, buy the food locally if possible, then feed the poor or desperate.
That sounds more like the effects of the communist junta itself to me.

The fact that the west has the means and desire to help the less fortunate doesn’t make them evil. Nor do the entirely unintended consequences.
Aid, when offered, has to be done after some research into what is causing poverty and/or lack of food. Helping in the aftermath of a huge natural disaster is one thing, but a greedy government which would rather sell its aid food to another nation for the cash than give it to its own people is another entirely. So is accidentally crashing an economy because there’s too much food; and I believe that isn’t exaggerated.
OP doesn’t know anyone who actually lived through socialism/communism.
