In Islam, they have the House of War and The House of Peace.
When Islam has complete control of a country or area, it is said to be in “The House of Peace”.
Anything LESS than that is considered “The House of War”. Even when they appear to be good neighbors and countrymen to whatever country they are in, they are considered to be in The House of War.
If you are interested, there are two really good books that explain these things, both of them by Bernard Lewis, a foremost Western expert on Islam. (He is now deceased)
The first book is “The Crisis of Islam”, and the other one is “What Went Wrong”.
I learned a lot from those two books.
