Exhibition shares took a beating Tuesday as AMC Entertainment announced its cash might be gone by year end and Walt Disney became the latest big content company to restructure operations around streaming.
As theaters reopen to limited audiences without key New York and Los Angeles markets and a paucity of new studio fare, heavily indebted AMC said in an SEC filing that it has enough cash to last until late this year-early next and would require material additional capital to operate beyond that point. Its not a given that capital will appear, or enough of it, reviving speculation on Wall Street that AMC may be forced to file for bankruptcy.

“With all the streaming services and big screen TVs, why go to a theater?”
I usually stream how-to and DIY vids and geology related science documentaries.
I think you are all missing something here. I hate Hollywood as much as all of you. But, going to the movies is an all American thing. Something that binds us. We need more of that if you ask me.
#14. What’s a “theater”?
Used to go to the movies when it was $.50. Food was about 10 cents - 25 cents. Last movie I saw was (1) “Saving Private Ryan” and (2) - “Serenity” at second run arts theaters. Prices good; food good; people good. Think that was about 2000- 2005 AD.
Never went back. AMC used to be a good chain and channel. The Left can wreck anything good and American.
Less money going to the leftist, democrats in hollywood is always a good thing.

IMO, more than 40% of USA businesses will be gone by March of next year.
New businesses will replace alot of them, but the bankruptcy courts will be overwhelmed.
Tax income will fall.
One of the most interesting classes I took in college was the history of film making, it was really informative to the point where when I watch movies it’s usually something that has been linked to strong associations in the art of Cinema. I really enjoy that aspect of filmography from the directors standpoint.
