Wow! $1100 for a phone? What a deal?
Sounds real stupid to me.

Yeah, I hate that it takes almost a second for a web page to load while I’m FReeping at the mall, waiting for my girl to shop. With a fancier and more expensive phone, it could load in 3/4 of a second! You know how many seconds that would add up to in a year??

It isn't just a phone. It is a handheld computer, a 21st century pager, a dictating device, a gps, a compass, an electronic measuring tape, a professional quality camera, a tracking device, a pocket translator, a video player, an mp3 player, and for some, the keys to your car (with fobs costing $300 these days). If you just want a phone, a $50 jitterbug will do fine.

It’s not a phone. It’s very powerful computer, with a processor that exceeds the power of many laptop processors, with a GPU that equals or exceeds that of many dedicated game platforms, that just happens to make and receive phone calls. It also has the capability to do 10bit HDR 4k video at 60 frames per second, and do special effects in real time, the only handheld computer/camera system in the world one capable of doing so. Even before this iPhone Pro model, iPhones which did not have these superior capabilities have been used to shoot full-length feature films. So, caver, $1100 is a bargain for what you get ... and that is just scratching the surface of what this device can do... plus it makes and receives phones calls. It also contains a GPS system that can direct you to almost any place on earth to accuracy of approximately ten feet. . . And allow you fingertip access to almost every piece of information in the world. You can also find and watch tens or hundreds of thousands movies and TV programs, listen to millions of music offerings when you want to hear them, all in high definition, in stereo or surround sound, or even send that content a much larger screen or speaker system you may have. You can read millions of books, articles, magazines, and view great art, also on demand. No, caver, it is not worth just $1100, it is worth far more, but you can have it for that price of less. You can shop for anything you desire from a stick of gum to a mega-yacht.... but you only see a phone. . . Similar to phones you can buy for $15...

Incidentally, the screen on the new iPhones is four times stronger and four times more shatter resistant than the strongest Gorilla Glass has ever been, using a new Corning microcrystalline ceramic shield unique to Apple.

Go buy the separate components too do what an iPhone 12 can.
Like camera, portable computer, stereo, network router, telephone, CDs, data storage, gaming console, TV, etc.
All those pieces will cost a lot more.
And not fit in your pocket.

I just read where Apple will not include the charger in the box, will be sold separately, probably for an extra $100.
