Is it true that if you have 5000 or more shares you get a free Apple 12 phone.
No. 5000 shares earned 82¢ per share cash dividend in the last quarter. Apple cannot pay those who hold 5000 shares better than those who own 100 shares. The dividend for 5000 pre-split shares at 82¢ per share is $4,100. After split, after the split, assuming everything were the same, the dividend per share would 20.5¢ per share... and the dividend on 5000 shares would be $1,025. In other words, people with 5000 shares would essentially get a double dividend. That would be unconscionable to those who had less, and would not be legal.
Who would get the iPhone when the holder of the stocks is a mutual fund?
Aint baseless rumors fun?
PS: There are ~17.4 billion AAPL common shares outstanding. . . If we were to divide them by 5000 shares, thatd be ~340,000 iPhones that would have to be given out free.
