Because the guy is a friend. And Fauci didn’t just pull his mask down to drink water, and he didn’t socially distance. Why is he so defensive? He says in this article to wear masks outside and not to get very close. Hypocrisy is a bad face.
But it’s okay if the person is close family.
THAT is a valid reason to criticize Fauci. A lot.
From the CDC web-site dated 08/07 (don't know when the picture was taken):
"CDC recommends that people wear masks in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain."
If he took the mask off for just a drink of water or to eat, or blow his nose, I think that would be okay. Any other reason and you start to question why is he not following CDC recommendations.

Agreed. I remember Fauci trying to explain away what happen and he called it "mischievous" (people drawing conclusions from the pictures).
Wish whoever took those pictures had taken some video as well.
