Chuck Mangione - Feels So Good

Which is superior?...
No question that I prefer Chucks. But I was never much of a fan of “Rise”. I didn’t dislike it. I just didn’t “love” it. Too much disco-ey.
I like the arrangement of Feels so Good much better.
But nothing beats the live rendition of Land of Make Believe.
BTW, I sold hi-fi and records when these two hit the charts.
I own most of the stuff by both of these guys. And ten copies of Whipped Cream and Other delights. I brought it in to school with me one day (I was on the AV crew for the library) in high school in 1970 and somebody stole it. So I made up for it in spades, via buying records by the boxload at estate sales. Some of them are like new. :)
Both are great, but Chuck wrote a masterpiece. The nine minute-something veesion is the definitive version.
I’m an Alpert fan, but the other made Mangione a household name.
I played trumpet as a kid and Herb Albert and the Tijuana brass were a big influence. Chuck Mangione came along after I stopped playing and made me want to pick up the instrument once again. His tonal quality was so smooth.
