We had a rooster. Don’t think he was trying to protect his hens, but he was willing to pick a fight with me. He might have done better if I hadn’t been holding a baseball bat at the time. Tossed his corpse in the trash can.

A Gold Seabright. A true Bantam. It doesn’t come in a standard size. I had a Silver Seabright hen for years.

You are correct! They come in gold and silver. I had a silver hen for many years. Relatively rare and cocky.

We had chickens in the yard for about 15 years, and we had 2 dogs all that time, and I never once saw them try to eat chicken poop. Not saying you didn’t, but ours didn’t. They did put their head in the cat’s litter box all the time. If your enjoy the chicken poo, I would not be surprised. Dogs put nearly everything they encounter in their mouth.
