I’ve followed Trump’s doings before he became President. Trump is huge on loyalty. His philosophy is: If I believe you did XYZ to me, I will do XYZ x 10 (or x 100) to you. Trump doesn’t care who you are, just don’t make him think you did XYZ to him. His father toughly trained him to be one “tough hombre” in real estate. Trump’s from NYC and is a big Guiliani fan, but can’t stand “mayors” Dinkins, Koch, DeBlasio, Bloomberg.

Pre-2015, Trump was middle-of-the-road independent — liberal on some issues, conservative on others, and moderate on yet others. He did always understand the Washington DC politician “Swamp” environment of career politicians, PACs, and lobbyists. Overall, he wasn’t someone I’d ever vote for. During his campaign vs Hillary, Trump learned a LOT about the Democrat Party’s true nature when they relentlessly, viciously attacked him, pushing Trump right. The following 4 years of intense TDS-Democrat anti-Trump bashing 24/7/365 pushed him even further right, so you have a President I now support.

Reagan began as a Democrat and eventually found his way. Similarly with Trump (though Trump began as a moderate and is now liberal on maybe just a couple of things, moderate in some other areas, but now conservative on many things).

Trump and his father were both supporters of Reagan. He’s always been a tolerant and inclusive NYer, but he has had to get stuff done with Dem governments and neighbors and lots and lots of labor unions over the years.

I expect he only can’t stand Bloomberg since Bloomberg has come after him so hard.

Speaking from my personal experience and that of my husband, I can add that the progs do this as a matter of course to anyone they can & feel the need to undermine.

They elected Trump and they caused the resurgence of the GOP.

“He did always understand the Washington DC politician ‘Swamp’ environment of career politicians, PACs, and lobbyists.”

He always did ... on a basic level. But he has said that he had no idea how bad it really was until he became POTUS.

They’re trying to kill him (literally), and he’s still hanging tough. God is in control.
