Viral TikTok Puts Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ Back on Charts

A viral TikTok clip of a man drinking cranberry juice and longboarding to the Fleetwood Mac track “Dreams” — and not, ironically, the Cranberries’ song “Dreams” — has both brought the rock group a spike in sales and the skater thousands in donations.

“Morning vibe,” skater Nathan Apodaca captioned the video in which he glugs a large bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice while skating down a freeway and singing along with Stevie Nicks on the hit off of the group’s 1977 album “Rumours.” Since posting last weekend, the clip has racked up over 18 million views for Apodaca, who goes by 420doggface208 on the social media platform.

Fleetwood Mac has formally announced they approve of the video, which Apodaca posted on Friday. “We love this!” the band’s official Twitter account tweeted Saturday along with the clip.

Stevie Nicks was great!

I found this rare 1978 interview of her getting off a plane in Dallas with the rest of Fleetwood Mac. It's only about five minutes long but it's got some funny parts in it. You got the starstruck pilot taking pictures through the cockpit window. Meanwhile, the stewardess looked like she couldn't get them off the plane fast enough - they must have put her through hell on that flight. Then the reporter collars Stevie coming off the plane for an interview while the rest the band walks off apparently unnoticed.

Check out the knee high tube socks on some of those guys. That's how you know it's the 70s. Those used to be stylish!

The line, "Players only love you when they're playing," was directed at Lindsey Buckingham. Stevie Nicks was not pleased when he brought "Go Your Own Way" to the sessions, which was clearly about her. Stevie told Q magazine June 2009: "It was the fairy and the gnome. I was trying to be all philosophical. And he was just mad."

Go Your Own Way Lindsey Buckingham wrote this as a message to Stevie Nicks. It describes their breakup, with the most obvious line being, "Packing up, shacking up is all you want to do," and concluding that he is better off without her - she can go her own way as far as he's concerned. Stevie insisted she never shacked up with anyone when they were going out, and wanted Lindsey to take out the line, but he refused.

That’s a great find. I’ll be listening to that in it’s entirety later on.

40 years later, Stevie hits two notes that still send chills down my spine.

Two chords for the whole song, with a third played once.

I never understood the fascination with Fleetwood Mac.

Like many bands of that era something about their music never appealed to me. I could never pin down exactly what it was that rubbed me the wrong way about it. Kind of like Tom Petty. Not that his stuff is bad, but for whatever reason it just doesn’t work for me.
