You could be right about that. When my MIL was alive she would have a police scanner on especially at night. She had a paper next to the radio with the codes and what they meant.

5150 in California means someone is mentally unstable and needs to be committed. So here in Texas I laugh when a bill or anything is 5150, and have to explain why, as it is California code.

I had a police scanner when son first went on the force, 25 years ago, used to listen every night.

Forget the codes, but do remember when they were looking for a suspect it was almost always BOLO for a BMA,, a black Mae adult.
