The swarm happening now south of the Salton Sea, near Westmoreland is over 30 km south of the end of the San Andreas. It is in the Brawley seismic zone, a common source of swarms. So far largest is M4.4. Too far from the San Andreas to change the probability of a quake on it.

That reminds me to check Sparta NC for any recent quakes. It’s too close to home.
North Carolina had one a few months ago that woke up people from Atlanta east and north through TN.
Middle TN had one last year that woke us up in NE GA.
East Alabama had one in the mid 90’s that woke us up in NW GA.
Washington DC had one that was felt though DC and VA into North Carolina.
Net effect? Zero.

Huell Howser had a great video on what happened to the Salton Sea....a few years ago.
Huell was of great interest when I lived there...
Great shows..learned a lot from him.
The first was Sparta. We didn’t feel it 6 counties away but they felt it in Atlanta. Go figure
